Instructors Handbook

IMPORTANT DATES
ACADEMIC HANDBOOK

* To allow travel time between classes, all lectures and tutorials start at 10 minutes past the scheduled start time.  For example, a lecture scheduled from 10am-11am should start at 10:10am and end at 11am.

* Final examinations held within the final examination period are scheduled and conducted by the Faculty of Arts and Science.  Instructors may not schedule tests or exams (including take-home tests) during this period.  Chief Presiding Officers are provided by the Faculty of Arts and Science and they have final authority in the exam room.  Course instructors and/or teaching assistants are required to be available to answer student questions about exam content.  More information about the conduct, invigilation, and format of exams will be provided later in the term.

* Students who miss an exam must petition through their College Registrar’s Office for the ability to write a deferred exam.  Instructors cannot excuse students from an examination nor offer an alternative evaluation.  Instructors will be contacted to provide a deferred exam for any students granted one, which may be several months after the completion of the course.
